Why Measure in Millimeters?
Millimeters (mm) are the standard unit for engineering, manufacturing, and detailed design work. Whether you are checking a part diagram, a floor plan, or a sewing pattern, precision matters.
PDF Ruler defaults to metric measurements, making it the perfect tool for:
- Detailed Schematics: Verify small component sizes.
- Print Layouts: Ensure bleed and safety zones are correct (e.g., 3mm bleed).
- Crafting: Check pattern pieces before printing to avoid wasting paper.
How to Use
Simply upload your PDF and drag a line. The tool will display the length in centimeters (cm). To convert to millimeters, simply multiply by 10 (e.g., 2.54 cm = 25.4 mm).
Common Questions
Is it accurate?
Yes, assuming the document is standard A4 size. We use the PDF's internal geometry to calculate distance.
Can I switch directly to mm?
Currently, we show cm, but a unit switcher (mm/in) is widely requested and coming in the next update!
