Why Use an Online Blueprint Ruler?
Architects, contractors, and home renovators often receive plans as PDF files. Measuring a specific wall or room usually means printing it out to scale or opening it in specialized software like AutoCAD or Bluebeam.
PDF Ruler simplifies this workflow:
- No Install: Just drag and drop your PDF plan.
- Privacy: We don't upload your sensitive project files to any server.
- Quick Check: Verify if a dimension string matches visual scale instantly.
Calibration Note
Important: Our tool currently auto-calibrates based on the assumption that the PDF page
size is standard A4 (210mm x 297mm).
For large format drawings (A1, A0, Arch D), the measurements
will be relative. You can use a known dimension to calculate the scale factor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it support 1:100 or 1:50 scales?
Not automatically yet. We calculate the raw distance on the page. We are working on scale presets for a future update.
Is my client's data safe?
Absolutely. No file uploading happens. Everything stays in your browser's memory.
