Ireneo helps you capture a spoken thought and save it locally on your iPhone. A recording begins only after you explicitly choose Capture a thought and is saved only after you finish it.

Recording
- To record on iPhone, choose Capture a thought, speak, then choose the control to finish and save.
- Ireneo asks for microphone permission only after you start a recording. If you denied it, enable Microphone access for Ireneo in iPhone Settings and try again.
- Captures last up to one minute. If recording is interrupted, Ireneo will not describe it as fully saved unless it completed safely.
CarPlay
With a compatible CarPlay connection, open Ireneo from the CarPlay launcher. Choose Capture a thought, speak, then choose the recording row to finish and save. If the connection is interrupted, do not assume the recording resumed; check the Inbox on your iPhone after reconnecting.
Transcription
After you save a capture, Ireneo queues an automatic on-device transcription when your iPhone supports Speech recognition for its current language. You can use Edit to correct the text, or Resync to create a new transcription from the original audio. If transcription is unavailable or Speech permission is denied, the original audio remains available.
Your data and deletion
Ireneo stores recordings, optional transcripts, and capture metadata locally on your iPhone. These files are excluded from device backups. Ireneo has no account, backend, cloud sync, analytics, advertising, or network transcription.
To delete one capture, use that capture’s delete action. To delete everything, choose Delete all captures from the Inbox menu. Deleting removes the local Inbox entry, audio file, and any associated transcript. Because Ireneo has no server-side copy, deleted data cannot be restored by Chapiware.
When you choose Add or share, Ireneo can send a copy of the transcript and original audio only to the app you select. That receiving app’s privacy policy applies to its copy.
