Ireneo Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 6, 2026
Ireneo stores voice recordings, optional on-device transcripts, and basic capture metadata, including date and recording status, locally on your iPhone. These files are excluded from device backups.
What Ireneo does not do
- Ireneo does not require an account.
- Ireneo does not include analytics, advertising, tracking, a backend, or cloud sync.
- Ireneo does not send recordings to Chapiware or to a server for transcription.
On-device transcription
After you save a recording, Ireneo queues an automatic transcription on your iPhone when iOS supports on-device Speech recognition. You can correct the transcript or choose Resync to create a new one from the original audio. Ireneo never falls back to network recognition.
Retention and deletion
Audio, any derived transcript, date, and capture status remain on your device until you delete the individual capture or choose Delete all captures. Deleting a capture removes its Inbox entry and local audio file. Because Ireneo has no account or backend, Chapiware has no server-side copy to retrieve or delete.
Sharing
When you choose Add or share, Ireneo can give the selected app a copy of the transcript and original audio. The receiving app’s privacy policy controls that copy.
Permissions
Ireneo requests microphone access only after you start a recording. If iOS needs Speech Recognition permission to create a local transcript, it requests it only while you use the iPhone app, never while CarPlay is active.
