How Your Data Is Used

All data processing happens entirely on your device:

Local Storage Only: Your photos and videos never leave your device. All processing is done locally.
Favorites: When you mark photos as favorites, this preference is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.
Collages: Photo collages you create are saved directly to your device's photo library.
App Preferences: Your selected date and app settings are stored locally on your device.

Data Storage and Security

All data remains on your device
No data is transmitted to external servers
No backup of your data is created by our app
When you uninstall the app, all app preferences and favorites are deleted (your original photos remain intact)

Permissions Required

iOS Permissions

Photo Library Access (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription): Required to read your photos and videos to display memories from previous years.
Photo Library Add (NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription): Required to save collages you create to your photo library.
Media Location (ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION): Used to read the date and time when photos were taken.

Android Permissions

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES: Required to read your photos.
READ_MEDIA_VIDEO: Required to read your videos.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Required for devices running Android 9 and earlier to access and save photos.
ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION: Used to read metadata including creation dates.

These permissions are used solely for the app's core functionality and no data is transmitted outside your device.

Children's Privacy

Ayer does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since all data processing occurs locally on the device and no data is transmitted to external servers, the app is safe for users of all ages.
